Scholarships are applicable to practically all areas of knowledge. However programmes with special
importance to the Caribbean is preferred such as:

- Health
- Biotechnology
- Genomics
- Mechatronics
- Nanotechnology
- Environment
- Spanish as a second language
- Tourism
- Natural Disaster
